As an engineer student, I found the interview extremely interesting, thank you!
This level of explanation is extremely helpful. Didn’t talk above or below my level of understanding@
Josh: “Cause its usually a lot of companies sucking their own”
me: finish your sentence please.
I have Shp9500 and i will bis he400se. Does he400se have biger sound stage, thet shp9500?
The 6XX just sounds muddy compared to the 560s. Full stop. It’s a no brainer
How does it sound using a hd 820 without an amp?cuz i cant stay still while im listening music ,anyone can answer me?
Audiophiles for beginners are called Sennheiser HE1
So high end wins
One of the reasons I got a pair of hifiman sundaras was your video about them. When you praised them so much I just HAD to buy them. I paired them with a fiio q5s TC and wow they sound amazing, nothing like I’ve ever heard before. This was, in my opinion, my first actual entry move into the audiophile world.
Hey, I’ve got a Yamaha YH-L700A and I cannot find any review or critic or whatever here (in English at least)
What do you think about Yamaha Headphones?
I’m like beginner level 0.2 audiophile LOL
Thanks 🙂
Thank you for such an informative video. It really was eye-opening and helpful!
funny thing is that I’m in an electronics major. And the suject we’re studying now is amplifiers. So when he talks about impedance and the fact that different amps have different qualities of teh output sound, I couldn’t agree more. The thing is, amps are made out of transistors, basically. And depending on how you polarize those transistors, the output sound wave will be more or less stable. Needless to say that usually a good amp requires good components, and good components cost good money. Research what you’re willing to invest your buck in 😉
Great channel, but I do recommend watching at 1.25 speed.
had my HD 600s for a while now (really solid) , looking to grab the audeze LCD-2C next.
Sorry, but this is boring af.
Dankpods is both entertaining and informative, so…
hi Joshua , I love watching your videos…..what are your thoughts on the Beyerdynamics Aventho Wireless….Im a music producer and use the 1990 pro through the Apollo Twin with my audio set up…looking for a portable set up for on the go and for some reason , the Aventho has very few reviews online despite the impressive spec sheet …would love it to watch your review on this model,,,thanks
In where I live, Sundara costs just about 15 usd more than HD6XX so there goes my choice lol
Hi. The most important thing which is almost always skipped by “audiophile” stuff is the physics. The most important thing beside headphones is IMPEDANCE of output. Why? Becuase most line outs, simple headphone outs are few ohms, even 10ohms. If we plug headphones of 16,32, even up to 100ohms they will produce huge distortion especially in lower register > distorted mids and trebles also. Why? Because the impedance of the source must be minimum 10-20x smaller than the driver’s! So what is the biggest problem? 90% of headphones in the world are connected to improper sources and produce distortion. 90% of headphones are 16-32 ohms! They can be loud on simple line/headphone output but will produce a lot of distortion by loading the output. In fact headphones of 100-600ohm are resistant to impedance mismatch, but will require a lot of power to be driven. In my opinion 60-70ohms are most universal headphones -decent with poor sources, great with headphone amplifiers under 5 ohms (most of them). Perfect headphone amplifier is maximum 1ohm, preferable under 0.1ohm. And then goes the sound quality, because only then it makes a difference…
Trying to buy a new pair of headphones, listening to YouTube videos on my partner’s $20 Big W pink head phones because my Bose have broken (literally snapped – apparently they don’t like it in the bottom of a back pack… Go figure)
Video after video, these pink wonders have been cutting in and out, one side working then none, clicking sounds and the like. Then I get to your video mate…. And they are tuned in with clarity and didn’t cut out for a second…. 😳
Mate… You’ve got me listening. Apparently the headphones were too. Awesome job!
I dunno if i want mass produced planars
