Eric was 100% spot on with his opening statement. As a IT professional, like most my co-workers had all been audiofile guys and they baked me into the AF oven. I think its honestly about learning what kind of sound your looking for from a headphone first before “claiming” the best. I now have about 18 sets.
Some of my tops are HD600, HD598cs, M1060, VM 100CM, HarmonicDyne Zeus. Right now my fav….is so funny Koss KPH30iCL with the Grado pads……like a WTF probably the most comfy headphones on the planet. The Headphones next on my list to purchase MDR-Z1R and TH900…..

After trying so many headphones ( this is just the list of top headphones I own and want, I have tried many more ) I know what sound I like out of headphones and what sounds don’t interest me. So when presented “the best” headphones I under stand audio quality is very subjective and its not your job to convince others how they hear is wrong its just different.

I have no idea whether this has been said before me. However, I really enjoy the transitions and the audio behind them, really sells the transition well. For example, going from level 1 headphones to 2. Amazing!

Hi Josh, I bought beyerdynamic dt990 headphones + fiio q1 mark2 DAC. Is it a god setup to listen to Apple Hi-Res lossless audio? ( I see hi-res audio is 24bit/192khz sampling rate. However the headphones show frequency response for the headphones is just 35khz, I am confused whether these are the right headphones for hi-rea audio)

Just upgraded from my Sennheiser HD518’s to the HD599 SE and they are 100% a good entry level headphone for Audiophiles and can be driven on anything without an Amp, will say a phone will need to be turned up but any laptop or setup more powerful then a phone will have enough sound to deafen you. Can’t wait to keep going and eventually get into Amps/Dacs and get some nicer looking and feeling cables going and eventually even try balanced outputs.

Hello Joshua, I am new to your channel and enjoyed a number of your reviews. I am intending to purchase my first set of headphones to run of my laptop computer whilst working. I live right under a flight path and leaf blowers are circling my apartment block on a daily basis. I love listening to jazz, classical and folk music. I have learned from you that open back headphones are not all that good in a noisy environment but you really praised the H6XX. I am not sure what to do not in a position to waste money. Could you perhaps narrow things down for me within the Sennheiser range in a sentence or two? Thank you very much.

I am not that rich but I love listening music in better quality…so I bought the beyerdynamic amiron wireless….to me its highend…I llllove it 🙂 and I stoped listening mp3’s…changed to flac…
