Why aren’t there any headphones with covers you can take off the cans to turn it into an open-back and when you need to, put the lid on and you’ve got a closed back.

Why it’s it that the beginner grade audiophile headphones is undergoing such a saturation, if you look at it most of the options in the top list of audiophile headphones are years old
Is it because the beginner friendly range has achieved saturation or is it audiophiles are generally goofus and go for the expensive option anyways, saying it’s not just a hobby it’s therapy )

I would not call myself audiophile, but more of interested beginner.
Regarding pads, I’d say pads have far bigger impact on sound quality on closed back headphones, than on open back one.
