There are a few people like me who have beyond average hearing under testing I hear under 18hz and above 28 kHz (lab test) they didn’t test lower or higher to people like me there is allot more to hear and most headphones are not designed to produce sound sound is suck a wide frequency range

I remember my first true pair of headphones being the shp 9500. Dailies for 3 years until i purchased sundaras dedicated dac and amp, i fell in love. Then a year later i got focal clear pros and they are my favorite headphone. I’ve also got koss porta pros, modded sony mh755 iems, and blessing 2 iems.
Looking to get a tube amp at some point on my adventure.

I’ll have to disagree on the estat point. I really think they do something super unique and after trying all the types they’ve been my favorite. But yeah if you love bass maybe they aren’t the best first choice.

I’d also like to point out that it’s pretty understandable for abyss to say that planars are the best technology as that’s what they use. I’d agree, I think it’s the best compromise between a dynamic and estat option at least in my book. That being said I haven’t heard a planar achieve that estat sound that I personally love. I know not everyone agrees with me but many people who really enjoy the estat sound won’t find that same feeling anywhere else. Of course I haven’t tried all the headphones, but just from my personal experience it’s how I’ve felt

The way you sound in the parking garage immediately after your voice on the mic is the perfect contrast on what it sounds like to go from open back to closed back (generally to my ear)
