Both AirPods and The Bose look so much better than the XM4. Considering that the Bose to most sound better than the Sonys as well I wonder why they aren’t the gold standard for more people.
Did the Bose performed ok with the 2.5mm? I have a really low volume when I listen to music like that. (Btw I love them. The Bose 700 are amazing)
Please compare against B&O specially with classical music (like H4 and newer)
Bose is in the audio business. Apple is in the marketing business.
About how it changes the EQ, sound style and volume: Apple being Apple. They believe they know whats better to you…
Then why “sorry Apple” if Airpod max is better in every stage? I hate misleading signs.
FU YouTube! Why in the funk am I seeing 8 commercials during this video??? Even worse, Google who should know me by now, constantly shows me ads that could never be of any interest to me. Right after an ad, I pressed pause to go do something, I come back, press play and then the Ad in 5 seconds countdown pops up again. FU YouTube! No, I will not upgrade to premium just because you keep showing me popups for that on my iPad and iPhone.
Yes, I know this has nothing to do with the content of the video. About the video, I have the AirPods Max, Sony XM4, and I just bought the Bose NC 700 (for the 2nd time). In many cases, a lot of of what this guy is saying, is very much contrary to my own experience. I’ve been using the 3 headphones all day over the past 3 days. The XM4 have been my daily driver for a few months. The only thing I really dislike about the Sony is that the design is boring to me. I like the design of the Bose much more and the design of the Max is very nice if you ignore the funky cheap looking mesh headband section which really does take away from the super premium look and feel of the cans themselves.
The weight of the Max is my biggest issue. I am young, athletic, 6’1” and I am not liking the weight one bit after long periods of use. As for the sound quality, yes better than the Bose and Sony but not by miles in my experience with these ears I was born with. I listen to a lot of hip-hop and other bass heavy music. The Sony beat out both the Max and Bose in that regard without question.
In the end I am sadly going to return the Max because of the weight even though they were a gift from my gf who is also going to return hers for the same reason.
FYI’ there are a lot of comments in this video that I found to be not very sincere or real-world. Makes me wonder if this is a sponsored video. One of several examples is to suggest that the Spatial Audio feature of the Max is something you can use right now with all or even most movies you watch. That is simply not the case. It only works with supported content (5.1 and 7.1) and ONLY if you are watching said content from your iPhone or iPad. It currently does not work with other devices, including the Apple TV (all of them including the current 4K), nor does it work with any SmartTV laptop or desktop. If Apple is getting ready to release an updated Apple TV, it would be safe to assume it will work with that but then again, the content has to be supported. As for Apple Music, no go, you’ll have to use a streaming platform like Tidal.
Edit: After the clickbait title, I’ve unsubscribed. It’s the end of 2020. Clickbait should be history by now.
After iPhonedo’s AirPods Max review,I feel like every other review attempt is pointless.
You didn’t mention whether plugging in the AirPods Max to an iPad or iPhone which requires the additional adaptor because there’s no headphone jack port … does this result in additional sound latency? You plugged it into a laptop that has a dedicated headphone port, so no adaptor (dongle) was required.
I just bought the AirPods Max and I compared them to the QC35II. Here’s my review:
Overall the AirPods Max do sound better in the sense that they’re more detailed and there’s a better separation of notes. Treble can sometimes be a bit piercing though but not as much as on the Bose 700. As everyone already mentioned, there’s a better soundstage on the APM. I think there’s too much sub-bass and it’s like if there’s constantly a mix of music with the sound of an engine. The mid range is slightly recessed kinda like if vocals are more in the background.
I prefer the sound signature of the QC35II. They sound a little bit less powerful but the mid range is definitely better on these headphones. The vocals sound more natural and clear. Treble is a little bit lifeless compared to the APM. The QC35II are definitely more balanced overall.
To resume, the AirPods Max has better treble. The BOSE QC35II has better bass accuracy and much better mid range.
I can still return the AirPods Max but I’ll test and compare them a little bit more. I wish there were headphones as good as the AirPods Max with the sound signature of the Bose. That would be my dream wireless headphones. Hopefully one day Apple will release more balanced headphones with less sub-bass.
VS DROP THX PANDA?
Why the “sorry apple” than?
Are you the same person? Just kidding! Nice Job!
Apple is over all better
Honestly I’ve had the Bose and the XM4 Sony and not kidding but the AirPods max completely destroyed them on any category specially the Transparency part but the sound quality is huge on the Max.. I know they are expensive but they are in a different category like the sennheiser 1999 dlls etc etc
Max, I trust your expertise, and thank u Sir
Thanks for the review. You guys are on fire lately with all the reviews. Keep up the good work.
I know you have to use those songs to avoid copyright, but man are they annoying.
Do not go running with the AirPods max, they are not water or sweat resistant
You cannot listen HQ audio straight from your Mac, because it will auto compress, you need to connect an external dac over usb, and then you will have uncompressed
interesting
