@JoolsCaesar I’m sorry, in my Amish community we show our approval of something by giving a thumbs down. My 2 sons and I thought that was universal. Sorry again, guys.
@mazdaplz I wonder if the thought of individual words is unique enough to distinguish so a speaker could instantly say what he thinks, as he forms words in his mind. That’d be a great application of this.
@mattghtpa Me too, I almost wonder if some of it is so advanced that not even the presidents are shown it, since they wander in and out 4-8 years and are often not as capable and intelligent as the average scientist/engineer, due to universal suffrage.
@ddnguyen278 Very true. Free market businesses naturally run more efficiently and innovate, the only advantage to the huge size of the govt is it can throw an unlimited amount of $ and resources to solve a problem, like moon race or Manhattan Project. Everything else that’s not needed immediately can be done much cheaper by private businesses, which is why govt should get out of our hair.
Tan Le, very hott.
Wow! The future is now! But if you use this to control a wheelchair does it mean that if you have to sneeze while waiting at a traffic light that your chair jumps onto the street? 😉 Could be a major bug…. hahaha!
Shit, now Microsoft’s kinect has even more competition… C( :
looks like we’ll be Jedis in no time!
I think if computers could read our brains they would instantly feel humbled and terrified. I don’t know about you but I spend at least a third of my time in front of a computer quite angry. I think a computer would be intimidated by the superiority of our brains and how frikkin’ angry we get at them. ^.^
Now that’s how you detect and prevent thought crime ?
Ps.
I know what your thinking .. =-)
Not impressed..
They are using Windows on Mac. Apple FAIL.
Imagine using this to surf the net, porn sites comes up every 5 secs or so.
give one of these things to stephen hawking.
Want!
what if the guy in the wheelchair is in a pissy mood. will it make him go in reverse all day?
I am not really interested in moving virtual objects around with my brainwaves. I already do that fine by using a mouse keyboard and voice input. Our brain is precisely connected to hands, and speech organs. What would interest me is a headset that lets us see what is going on in the brain when we fail and succeed. Are Dull or Brilliant. Creative or canalized. Alert or spacey. Learning to understand ourselves at our best and worst and master those states is an exciting frontier.
@holyscythe there’s already a jedi “force trainer” toy for kids that moves a ball in a tube. So yah soon, and Nintendo better get their hands on it bc they do it right and cheap.
