We’ll see. Apple is too far behind in AI right now.
Hmm my comment is gone
My son used VR for a few hours at a Boston tech conference last month and loved the gaming experience. He said that the goggles had reliability problems though. So it sounds like there is a market for this but I expect somewhat of a slow uptake due to cost and unfamiliarity. I haven’t heard the term iWork in a long time. I usually call all of the programs iCloud apps or iCloud suite – where the programs just happen to run on your Mac, iPad and iPhone.
The blue set is great!
To be fair… the competition isn’t much right now. Its really just trying to grab user/market share right now.
Very interesting, happy to discover you. I’m excited to try someone new from Apple and I’m hoping I’ll be able to wear multiple large screens and use them from inside a train.
I love playing poker & blackjack on PokerStar VR on the Meta Quest
I’ve tried VR headsets since the 1990s. They’ve all had the same experience – bad graphics, hellish interface, poor software and not particularly comfortable after a few minutes. Apple may have a new spin on it and succeed but given developers experience in developing for these types of things for years, they’re likely to have to give the headsets away to them or even pay them to develop anything. Our society has become more insular and polarised over the last 20 years, the last thing I want is for people to become more cut off from reality and real physical interactions with people. VR headsets just seem like something out of an episode of Black Mirror. If this becomes mainstream and consumer level expect to see a child in a pushchair with one on in 5 years…..
Just have it work as an external display for my mac with crisp retina display and 100 inch screen on the go, that’s all it will take for me to get this on the first day.
I used a headset for hours a day ..till I realised everyone in VRCHAT are dicks 😂 and went back to non VRCHAT otherwise known at ..CHAT
*$3K?* _Fuhgeddaboudit._
If Apple can make VR goggles that look like ski goggles on the outside, then they may actually have a chance. Depends on how well the face projection is implemented but I’m finally intrigued by the product.
Cheers Dave for the shout out ❤
Really hoping for AR-like features rather than VR. And hoping my wallet can take the hit 😭
#iCaveanswers Have you seen the Jeff Geerling video about what an ARM Mac Pro could be like? In light of the Mac Pro delays what do you think of the concept?
ik you said its dumb the main driving force that can convince me a college student to pull the trigger is if I can have a really sharp/clear/visible desktop floating monitor setup with it in ar. this is what the rumored high res screens will be able to pull off that will blow all current headsets out of the water for me (past vr user)
I usually play my PlayStation VR 2 or sometimes my PlayStation VR for about a hour per day 😂😂😂and I think apple need to have some killer AAA games or Software the only thing I can see is apple making it compatible with Logic Pro X which will give music producers a new way to produce music but if they don’t do that at launch it’s not going to do very well at all
Well it turns out after years and years of being a big Apple Mac fan, I don’t like it anymore. I’ve gone over with what I want and don’t want and what this does and that doesn’t and what games I want and what that does. Overall I don’t like Mac OS interface, it’s very odd to me and I really like Windows interface more. I was contemplating on getting a gaming PC, but as I like controllers more, have over 600 games on consoles, and like PlayStation games the most, there’s no need for a gaming PC. I just like Windows 11 interface more. The Mac OS top bar to close an app is annoying. The dock doesn’t have everything in it like Windows taskbar. The finder doesn’t have a documents folder and not even in the top bar options you can’t enable a new folder. Maybe you can but I don’t see how. I also don’t like control option command on the keyboard. I hate the flat touch apple mouse. It’s all very annoying to me now and that’s why I will go PC.
Something i am thinking is will you be able to use it if you wear glasses and will they fog up when using them? It has only come to my attention with me picking up some glasses at the weekend.
enjoying the video my friend
I use vr for gaming. other than that, not much else
