Hi Steve. I’ve listened to your reviews on the Nikons D500/7500 and enjoyed them very much. I recently noticed on Dxomark that the Nikon D7500’s scores are all better than the D500’s in all but 1 category.
Overall scores: D7500. – 86. D500 84
Portrait. – 24.3. – 24.
Dynamic range (sports). -14 EVS. -14 EVS
sports (iso). -1483 -1324
Is that because the processor on the D500 is using more of its capabilities for things like buffer, FPS, etc ? Please comment. Looks like the D7500 might be a good choice and buy for a beginner. Thanks

Will you be doing a review of the D850 for wildlife photography anytime soon?
Hola Steve, el 600 f4 E se puede usar a mano alzada sin tripode o monopié ? Gracias.
out of the the three cameras which one works best for weddings photography
Thanks for this and all the videos. I’ve found them very helpful (in fact, as I went to buy my 7500 I knew more than the salesman did about some things) and just bought the AF book. Looking forward to learning even more than I learned from your terrific video on back button focus. Your stuff is really great.
So after watching this video the result remains unchanged – D7200 is better
any idea about the d7500 vs 80d in both photography and video in total, totally confused of which one is better compared to the other and didnt notice a good hand-on field test comparison> wanna buy one of them soon > please help me in choosing one of them
In a web saturated with low-effort commentary, this densely informative, useful, unbiased review based on tons of experience is such a rare treat. I expect to be getting his ebooks on Nikon autofocus and on wildlife shooting. Autofocus has been a major factor in much of my photography, so learning more on how to make it work and to avoid pitfalls is very attractive.
Thank you for this information, I noticed that some of your photos are very noise free even after you used high iso, maybe a video how to achive this would be appreciated.well done
Was in the market for the 7200 and this cleared the way for a 7500 for me . Thanks for the review.
Hi Steve, There’s a Scene mode on D7500’s dial and when I select “Sports” mode it sets focusing to “AF-A and 51” instead of AF-C and 3D tracking, Any idea why they put these settings for sports? Thanks
Steve , Boy I sure am glad your out there and I sure like your reviews ! Your reviews and E-Books are top on my list . Sure nice to find a straight common sense place for Nikon reviews without all the loony tunes fluff ! Keep up the good work !

Thanks Steve for the solid review 🙂
Great review! I’ve had this camera for a few months now and really like it. I do miss the depth-of-field preview button (my biggest gripe) but love the 4K video and the extra speed over my D7100 for action shots. I’ve already used the tilt screen a number of times and wonder how I got along without it. The missing second card slot is a non-issue to me but with SnapBridge you may now send any or all of your shots to your phone’s card manually or automatically via Bluetooth or WiFi. You may also control your camera remotely with your phone with SnapBridge. Thanks!
Thanks for this review. I was considering the D850 for wildlife, but figure it’s kind of pointless since I’d probably be cropping down to DX size a lot. The 7500 seems like a lot better bang for the buck than the D500, so I just may give it a try.
Great video! You’re a big help
What about putting older Nikon glass on the D7500, I heard you can’t use them. Can you explain anything you know about this? Thanks.
Hi ! take a look, someone else reposted your video !! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfmwZJAKpCc
Why should we even watch this? You can get a factory refurbed D7200 for about $700.
