Wait, this has aperture control in live view?
Excellent review.
Do you miss Journey?
Enable crop mode on the D7200 and you get 7 fps, which is closer to the 8 fps from D7500. Not much of a difference there.
Steve thank you for the great video on the d7500, 7200 and 500. I have enjoyed photographing wildlife and want to purchase a new camera body. One of the big challenges I have with wildlife is low light. After watching alot of youtube videos I almost bought a d500 but now I’m not sure. Some reviews rate its usable iso below the d7500. On the other hand the d600 is full frame and beats them both on paper. I was hoping you could share your insights. I have the nikon 200-500 5.6 on a d300 and I don’t push the iso past 640. It’s frustrating to miss shots or worse to get great shots that are unusable.
Good Review.
Great video Steve. Thanks for taking the time to point out the differences between three seemingly great cameras. I have been saving my pennies for a D500 but am reevaluating based on your video.
Your work is beautiful. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

Great review Steve. 👍
Great review as always Steve! If you have a tight budget and don’t much bother about the added bells and whistles on the D500, it would be more wise to buy the D7500 and invest in some good glasses and you will surely end up with great pictures. 🙂
Thank you for the time you’ve put into this. I found your review very objective and helpful.
PS: I really enjoyed the way you paid attention to detail, and since that convinced me you’re excellent at explaining things, I’ve bought your ‘Secrets to the Nikon AF’ e-book 🙂
Nice tutorial
tq Sir
Plz tell me sir, best lens
Nearly half an hour and no mention of video capabilities at all.
Excellent video. I was looking for a great review of the D7500 as an upgrade for my D7000 and you gave me all the answers I was looking for. Thank you very much.
I really liked your review, I can’t decide between a D7200-D7500 and Canon 80D, I want 60% stills and 40% video, whats the better option?
Gret review! It clears up a lot of things regarding D7500 and D500, which are two cameras I am looking to at the moment. Thanks a lot for that!
Not one of the , this video is THE BEST Review
I am not talking about the camera but the way he put up his review
Thanks for your rational & informative review. I’m an amateur with a new D7500 (upgraded from an old D80) and have watched many reviews in order to pick up some tips about using it effectively. Most vids are useless rants that don’t match the good experience I’ve had with the 7500. Your video actually helped me understand this new camera a little better instead of just denigrating it. Thank-You!!
I can only say that looking at the 4K video demo on the Nikon site for the D7500 at full screen on my 27 inch computer monitor the 4K is tons more detail than regular HD (beautiful at 4K), impressive for an apsc camera. Could be worth buying D7500 over D7200 or Canon 80D for some. Now Nikon needs to work on their autofocus like Canon in their next round of cameras, so focus hunting is not a problem.
