This is an amazing review. You did a superb job!
Thanks, this review helped me a lot to decide which camera should I choose, at first it would be the d500, it may seem silly, but what I do not like is to run out of the built-in flash and also 2 memory cards, for me it is essential in some cases. See how hard the d500 has place for 2 cards, but has no built-in flash and the d7500 has built-in flash but has no place for 2 cards and no grip. Difficult to decide, I think of a small flash to not have great volume and so to be able to use a higher iso with the remaining padding made by a small flash in the d500, would be a good deal? Ps: I have 2 sb700, but for the portability I need and weight would be very bulky and heavy. Thanks again and success.
Thanks for your help
Thank you for a very detailed review.
I have heard numerous reviews and comments saying that the dynamic range on the D7500 (at base ISO) is not as good as that of the D7200. I also heard that the d7500 sometimes has a problem with specular highlights. Have you found any noticeable or significant differences between the D7200 and D7500 as far as DR?
Thank you for a great review and comparison. I’m reconsidering the D7500 after watching this video. The joystick and buffer are appealing to me on the D500 but nit sure that is worth the price difference.
What is the big monitor behind you? It looks really cool.
in my opinion as a D5300 owner i would buy the D7200 to save money. it is already a great camera in many ways and if i absolutely needed the tilting screen I’d just bring my D5300 to that job. The D7500/500 are great as well but i’d much rather save that extra 500-1000 dollars for a lens or two. just my 2c
I personally think the D7500 is a waist of money From Nikon . The Nikon D7200 has a much sharper image , but the D500 is worthy price for sports and wildlife Shots and will have many other uses for it’s FPS. I would opt for the Nikon D810 compared to the D850, as it’s to expensive for me. i would rather keep my own Nikon D7200 until something New come’s in 2018 ?
you can get a third party battrey grip ive just ordered one not got camera is on order if this helps
Myself I’m very torn between this and a used d7200, since I want a good landscape/general purpose camera but still with some sports/wildlife capabilities and the d500 just is out of budget. I’m sure that d7500 would suffice excellent in 98% of the cases but I can’t shake the feeling that this is an inferior x-t20 with a much higher price.
The best comparison on YouTube!
Steve, you make fantastic videos, I have set up one of my cameras for wildlife as you suggested, works great.I think the D7200 is a better camera. I just bought one for £300 less than the D7500.
Just got it, it`s perfect. Only thing I miss is the double card slot, but it behaves like a great camera, no doubt.
Thanks for that awesome review, Steve! The best I have seen for the D7500. It gave me a lot of infos and real world tips to think about as I consider to buy it as an upgrade to my D3300.
I have the D5600, and trying to justify an upgrade for casual portrait and landscape is a tall order. If..I did decide to upgrade, I’d probably go with the D7500, if I was going to stay casual. If pro however, definitely want the 2 slots. I’d never attempt a wedding with one. One might get away with it, but it could go horribly wrong.
I have a nikon d5300, and i saw that’s no have difference between 7200 and this camera, what can you tell me to change for a 7500?
You can pick up a D500 for the same price on grey market. The D7200 is an oil spitter, well mine was, total ####. The D7500, I have never tried, but it looks over priced, possible quality issues since 2015, Why?
Best review, your explanation is awesome
d7500 as nature camera, without weather sealing !….
