First! : ) Nice shots with the 70-200, look forward to a close look.
Still wait your TC reviews 😉
Would love to see a review on the 24 to 200, for landscape and street to see how well it holds up to it’s 2.8 brothers.
2:47 – I have the Z7II and I never been able to upgrade the firmware from my CFexpress card, did anyone else had that “problem”?
SD works just fine. CFe is set to primary!
I’m excited to see your forthcoming review. Yesterday I was shooting with the TC2 attached as well, and some of the close up shots in my garden look really pretty good. As an amateur. I don’t need pin sharp images, but even so, they were pretty good!
I use an Angelbird CFExpress 256g in my z6ii and it works very well. Had trouble with the Sandisk version. I usually upgrade using SD on my cameras so I’ve just continued doing that so far and everything works just as you’d expect. .
My Lexar two plus year old 128 GB XQD card with over 150K clicks on it works like a charm with my D850 and D500, it never let me down in the cold or heat. No need for CF express.
Thanks Matt! I’ll dust off my D500 and update to CF Express…or consider a host of XQD cards if on sale.
the link to the 256Gb card leads to the seller website where there are 4 images of the card. the last image is wrong! LOL check the R/W speeds. Probably took the pic of another site. oops
Matt, my Z6II finally arrived – super excited & had to tell you 🤗
I used a 256gb SD card with D850 and it worked well. Thanks for the video.
Speaking of updates, I can’t seem to update my Z6II. I know it’s not an update that needs to be downloaded but I cannot seem to get the camera updated
I love the Z 70-200f2.8 VR S, but it is a shame there is no physical VR switch on it 🙁
Very happy to continue to use my XQD cards in my D850 however I’ve updated my firmware so it’s ready should I ever need additional or replacement cards. Be interesting to see a list of all the CF Express brand’s and capacities that are compatible with the D850. For D850/D500/D5 shooters it’s too risky to purchase CF Express cards yet until we know for sure which will work given the cards are pretty expensive.
I’m using the Angelbird AV Pro CFexpress 256G in my D850 and my D500. In the D500 they work flawless, never had a problem. In the D850 sometimes it shows me “card error” after turning on the camera. In that case I have to take out the card and pop it back in (while the camera is on). After that it works, no problem. But luckily it only happens rarely and never while using the camera. So no problem for me.
Hi Matt Just took a 128GB integral ultima CFExpress card from my Z7 II and popped it into my son’s D500 even without formatting it was readable. I did then format and shoot no problems. It is now back in my Z7 II re-formatted and working well. I hope this info is of use. Keep up the good work. Upgraded my camera using the Nikon app and it worked well.
Why is the 70-200 range better than a 70-300? Nikon could be a game changer with a lighter 70-300 f4 lens.
I’ve got a couple of the SONY ‘tough’ CFexpress cards in my D6 and when I think about it realize the cards in the camera cost more than my first DSLR, the D70 LOL I am VERY impressed with the performance of the CFExpress cards, fwiw.
Matt, enjoy your content and style; also thank you for remembering us, the multitude of D850/D500 shooters out there.
Hi Matt, I’ve done the firmware upgrade but until I need a larger card or my XQD dies I will stick with the XQD as it is working perfectly well
