Finally! I was thinking about this topic. Thank you sir.
Canon 90d will have 4k @60fps.
Good video again. PanasonicG7 mates get that
Another key reason to lean more towards the D7500 is for its rugged and weather resistant design especially with being out in rough terrain hunting and doing wildlife photography. I myself tend to be a bit rough with things and I am considering the Nikon D7500 in the near future!!
Waiting for the 90D makes no sense, who knows when it will come out and who knows what features it will have. The D7500 is a better photography camera for sports/wildlife and pretty much everything else. For video the D7500 has 4K which the 80D doesn’t but the 80D does have a smoother video AF. I would get the D7500
I wait with my 80D for 7D mark iii 🙂
How about the D500….the D7500 has only one sd card slot.
Honestly I agree that 7200/7500 is the better choice if he wants it mainly for the wildlife photography. Only would suggest the 80d if he really needs that level of auto focus for videos. But if that’s really the case then the canon t7i or 77d might be a better choice to save cash which he could then put the extra money on better longer lenses
There is no rumor of 90D anytime soon.
Decision between 80D and D7500 is not that straightforward:
(1) D7500 has 4k, but it exhibits additional 1.5X crop to yield total 2.25X crop. Thus wide-angle video becomes difficult except with super-wide lenses in 4k. HD shooting in both are however identical.
(2) AF for stills is superior in D7500, but AF is erratic in video mode; AF in video mode is far better in 80D.
(3) 80D has fully articulating touchscreen (D7500 is only tilting type) ideal for selfies.
(4) Both bodies are weather-resistant – D7500 is heavier and more rugged.
(5) Only D7500 has zebra highlight warnings to prevent washout of highlights.
(6) Battery grip is available for 80D only for extended shooting.
Why not pick the Fuji XT2 instead ? It has an APSC sensor like these two, with good video features, fantastic image quality, good AF, ISO performance… and the fuji native lenses are very good too ! Unless you are already invested in a system (own many Nikon or Canon lenses) I HIGHLY recommend the Fuji XT2 🙂
Forget the 90D, there is nothing on the horizon any time soon regarding the 80D’s replacement. Starting from scratch, happy to go APSC, need fast burst rates, excellent auto focus, 4K video and weather sealing?…Forget both the 80D and the D7500 and look at the Fujifilm XT2 instead. About the only limitation you’ll get regards the Fuji X system is lack of long prime/super telephoto lenses which given your wildlife interests might be a concern, however their 100 to 400 zoom might fill that gap sufficiently. Add a battery grip later for even faster burst rates/battery life and enjoy Fuji’s constant firmware updates. 😃
7D3 will come before 90D so there’s a long wait for 90D ahead of us
1 answer: Go FF
What about the D750? Or the A7RII?
F that 7500
I would do the Nikon, but would choose the new Tamron 18-400. That is going to be a great 1 lens option for travelling, and will also give you significant reach for the wildlife.
I would buy the Nikon D7200 if you don’t mind the 1080p because of the price or the D7500 if you want the 4k because Canon hasn’t been making 4k DSLR’s. Plus the 200-500mm is a really good Nikon lens for wildlife.
can u plz make a video with upcoming Panasonic, canon and nikon cameras??? very website gives fake news….
With the t7i and the 77d out with some of the same futures as the 80d ie: the same sensor, dual pixel AF etc one would think that when the 80d is replaced or 7d markiii comes out canon has to pack them full of the features everyone is looking for. I have the 80d and love it. Have used the video footage along side the canon c100. Want to update, waiting to see what they do with the 80d or 7dmarkii replacements.
Which microphone do you use?
