Sports writers and fans have romanticized “61 homeruns” so much for so long, they forget that they were fascinated by Babe Ruth for even longer.
Ohtani does what was thought to be impossible, and then does it again the following season. But such is the historical love for the Yankees and 61 homeruns that writers and fans have already lost appreciation for the historical display of athletic excellence being displayed by Shohei Ohtani.
