I think the MLB should allow both of them to be awarded MVP this year.
“Shohei, and Judge”
What Judge has done won’t be repeated again anytime soon.
Ohtani is going to go down in history as the Greatest of all time, without question.
&
We get to watch him almost everyday.
To be able to witness this feels like an honor in itself

I think MLB should make an exception and give the MVP to both of them, Judge and Ohtani are making history this year, they deserve the MVP.

There can be co-MVPs. I remember Keith Hernandez of the Cardinals and Willie Stargell of the Pirates being co MVPs in 1979.

You have to remember that being an elite two way player does not automatically make you MVP. You have to determine whether you are better than the competition. In most cases you would win, but in this case, Judge is better. Shohei would win any other year

Ohtani as pitcher: 2.35 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, TWO HUNDRED STRIKEOUTS, 15 wins. And he had AT LEAST 5 wins blown by the terrible mid season Halo bullpen. He would have had 20. Last month: 4 wins, 1.09 ERA No-no thru 7.2
Ohtani as batter: 34 HR, 88 R, 94 RBI, 11 SB

I think if Judge wasn’t having one of the best offensive seasons in recent mlb history then Ohtani totally would be in consideration. I don’t know if there is an AL MVP runner up award but I would give that to shohei in an instant.

Nobody is in the ‘conversation’ for MVP except Aaron Judge… No true, honest baseball fan (except for partisan Angels fans) could believe it should be anyone else.
I have no doubt that Ohtani could win an MVP award in any given season, but NOT this year. He will likely finish a distant second to Judge in the MVP balloting… ‘Distant’ second.
