If Shohei were a member of the Yankees, his record would rank him mostly in second place on the team, both as a pitcher and a hitter.
It should be noted that there is a difference between winning 12 games on a 73-57 team and winning 11 games on a 57-73 team.

Some of these analysts keep devaluing Shohei Ohtani’s value to his team and to the MLB in general. They keep on saying than Judge is more valuable than Ohtani to the Angels without knowing that Judge’s team win percentage when he hits HR with RBI has accumulated 40.50% of the team total wins, meaning at least 32 out the 79 wins of the Yankees were because of Judge. On the other hand Shohei Ohtani has an accumulated 47.36% of the Angel’s total wins, which means Ohtani 27 out of 57 current wins of the Angels were because of Shohei Ohtani. Now, that is a factual stats. So who is more valuable then? No disrespect to Aaron Judge because he is on pace of trying to reach a historical milestone in terms of HR but there is no way a projected 60 plus hitter more valuable than a projected 35 HRs, 100 RBIs, 100 Runs 10 SB, 83B as a hitter PLUS 12 Wins, 200Ks, ERA 2.50, 150IP, 12K K/9, & 1.0s WHIP…And by the way, elite or top 5-10 in both hitting and pitching… That is an out of this world stats. Something that won’t happen to MLB ever again. Shohei Ohtani is a clear cut MVP, NOT EVEN CLOSE…PERIOD..

Shohei and Aaron: co-MVP for this season.

Thereafter, MLB must create a new category of award for someone like Shohei. That’s the only way making the sense because you can NOT compare the regular position players with UNICORN. They are like apple and orange. There is reason why you don’t see two-way players in MLB except in the minor league (?)….. because it’s extremely, extremely, extremely difficult.

There will be some giant guys who will pass # of HR past Aaron, in maybe like within next 10 years, if he hit 60 plus HR, but if no one like Shohei appears for NEXT 100 YEARS, then, so be it !!! No one gets the UNICORN AWARD. 😁

That tells you the enormity of what he is doing, “nay- sayers” !!!!😆
