Consider the comment that was made when he was rounding second to get his triple, “keeping his energy level”. Most if not all pitchers sit in the dugout, controlling their emotions, thinking about the next inning and the batters they will face. When Ohtani gets a hit or steals or runs, his heart rate gets elevated and when he gets back to the dugout he needs to quickly try and bring his heart rate down in order to pitch. That makes what he is doing even more incredible.
