The problem with the Android tablet is the ecosystem. No Android tablet will replace the iPad at this price range, Google first needs to provide a separate experience for the tablet.

Samsung has held the market on Android tablets by brand name alone. And they have not done a spectacular job at that. While Android and Android phones have come a long way (even some cheap phones can be decent), iPad continues to hold the best iPad position. Often times, reviewers will say if you want a decent cheaper tablet, go to Kindle.

OnePlus has an opportunity to step on and say “There can be a decent Android tablet.”

I think part of it is the tablet space niche is still being found. But, it leans heavily to those who use Apple. Creative, media watching, reading, drawing type people. And Android is typically ( outside of cheap prepaid users) used by the tech people that like to tinker with their phone. They want full computers. And for them, a convertible laptop or a Surface is better.

Looks good. I hope Marquees also looks into how the note taking apps perform on Android. iPad has a bit of an edge there and hopefully this introduces more competition in the area.

Hmmm they actually made a Android iPad (should make clear I’m talking about how it roughly looks and functions not the actual manufacturers)

Most of the time you can tell the difference between a iPad and a Android tablet by eye sight alone but this one I can actually see people actually mistaking it for a iPad even though it’s actually a Android tablet.

Apple is objectively considered generally the better option to go for when you are getting a tablet and is usually the lead runner in the tablet market while Android tablets from any company is are usually quite far behind, but with this OnePlus tablet if they continue with this approach Apple might finally get proper competition in the tablet market from the Android side

(This is coming from someone who mostly use Apple products bye the way)
